Study Archway Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Study Archway iPhone app and Study Archway’s public marketing, support, and privacy pages. “Study Archway,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developer and operator of the Study Archway app.

2. Information stored on your device

Archway stores your onboarding assessment result, primary learning goal, study progress, lesson-answer state, saved lessons and theory notes, practice scores, preferences, notification settings, and cached subscription-access status locally on your device. Scratchpad notes also remain on your device.

This information supports your study experience. Scratchpad notes are temporary, stay on your device, and are not synced or saved after you leave the screen. If you use Archway as a guest, your learning progress stays on your device except for lesson feedback you explicitly submit.

3. Optional account and cloud sync

You may create an Archway account with Apple or Google sign-in. Supabase Auth stores a unique user identifier, your sign-in provider, and the name and email address returned by Apple or Google. Your name identifies your profile in the app; it is not used for advertising or access permissions. Apple may provide a private relay address if you choose Hide My Email. Archway never receives your Apple or Google password. The starting assessment and learning goal are optional; skipping them does not create an assessment score.

When you sign in, Archway syncs your assessment result and learning goal, appearance and study preferences, completed and saved content, practice scores, lesson history, notification-read state, and quiz answers. XP, readiness, and streak are calculated from this activity rather than stored as editable counters. This information is linked to your Archway user identifier and is used for authentication, backup, cross-device sync, support, security, and account deletion.

You may link both Apple and Google to one Archway account. Apple and Google process sign-in information under their own privacy terms. For Apple sign-in, Archway securely exchanges a one-time authorization code and stores an encrypted Apple refresh credential linked to your account so it can disconnect Apple access during account deletion. The encryption key is held separately from the database. These credentials are not included in study backups or lesson feedback and are removed when the account is deleted.

4. Optional lesson feedback

When you choose to send lesson feedback, Archway sends the following information to Supabase:

• Lesson and module identifiers
• Your Helpful or Needs work rating
• Selected reason tags
• Any optional written comment you provide
• The Archway app version and submission time

Archway does not add your name, email address, account identifier, or device identifier to a lesson-feedback submission. We use feedback to evaluate and improve lesson quality, and we do not link it to an account or device identifier.

5. Optional launch waitlist

If you join the waitlist on studyarchway.com, we store your email address, signup time, the marketing site as the signup source, and the version of the consent notice shown when you joined. We use this information to send launch news, TestFlight opportunities, and occasional Study Archway product updates.

Joining is optional. You can unsubscribe from a message or request deletion at any time by emailing support@cldgrp.com. The waitlist does not collect your name, Archway account identifier, device identifier, lesson progress, or advertising profile.

6. Connection information

Supabase, Apple, Google, and network providers necessarily receive connection information, such as an IP address and request metadata, to deliver, secure, and operate their services. Archway does not store an IP address in its account, progress, or lesson-feedback tables and does not use connection information for advertising or tracking.

7. Subscriptions and Apple services

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Archway receives verified entitlement information such as the purchased product identifier, subscription status, and expiration date. Archway does not receive your complete payment-card details.

Apple may separately process purchase, diagnostics, and App Store information under Apple’s own privacy policy. Restoring purchases asks Apple to synchronize transactions for the Apple Account signed in on the device.

8. How information is used

Archway uses information to provide waitlist updates, sign-in and progress sync, preserve your study experience, verify Pro access, respond to support or privacy requests, protect the service, and improve curriculum quality. We do not sell personal information, serve third-party advertising, or use information to track you across apps or websites.

9. Service providers and disclosure

Supabase provides waitlist storage, authentication, cloud progress storage, and anonymous lesson-feedback hosting. Apple and Google provide sign-in, and Apple also processes subscriptions and related platform services. These providers process information under their own terms and are required to protect it consistently with applicable law. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users or Archway.

10. Retention and deletion

Your Archway account and synced learning data are kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete the account, authentication record, cloud profile, and synced progress from You → Settings → Account → Account and cloud sync → Delete account. Signing out clears account-linked learning data from the current device. Deleting only the app does not delete cloud account data.

Deleting an Archway account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Active subscriptions must be managed through Apple’s subscription settings.

Submitted lesson feedback is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted automatically, unless a longer period is required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Waitlist signups are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted automatically. You may request earlier deletion or unsubscribe from future messages at any time.

Because feedback does not contain an account or device identifier, deleting an account does not automatically identify or remove past feedback. A feedback-deletion request should include enough detail to locate the submission, such as the lesson, approximate submission time, and comment text.

11. Your choices and rights

The waitlist, an account, and lesson feedback are optional. You can unsubscribe from waitlist messages, study as a guest, reset local progress, sign out, delete your account in the app, manage notifications in Archway and iPhone Settings, and manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple. Depending on where you live, you may have additional access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection rights.

12. Children’s privacy

Archway is intended for software developers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Archway changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are published. If an update materially changes how information is used, we will provide notice appropriate to the change.
